Sports Premium
Please scroll to the bottom of the page to see the financial breakdown for our Sports' Premium Funding, the impact the funding has had and to see the record for our Year 6 swimmers.
The primary PE and sport premium was introduced in March 2013 to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England.
This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to schools to be spent on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. All state-maintained schools, academies, middle schools, special schools and pupil referral units which have primary aged pupils receive the funding.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in schools. We will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils progress and participation in PE and school sport. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details. This will ensure that parents/carers and others are made fully aware of the PE and sporting provision at Homefield Primary School.
Spending the Sports Premium funding:
We believe in a holistic approach to the development of sport and physical activity for all and encourage collaboration and partnership working to make the best use of resources and enhance PE and sport provision in order to raise participation and achievement for all pupils.

Our aims
Extra Curricular Club Development
Children will have a variety of opportunities to participate in clubs both after school and at lunchtime. Clubs are delivered by a combination of school staff, and sports coaches from East Norfolk Sixth Form College and Premier Sport. The clubs offer is updated on a termly basis and will provide opportunities to all year groups from Year Reception up to Year 6. The Reception class will be offered their first experience of a club in the summer term.
Promotion of less active pupils into sport
There is a sports notice board situated at the heart of the school where children can keep up to date with the latest clubs, the long-term plan for sports offered in their year groups and future opportunities to take part in trial sports or competitions. Through links with the East Norfolk Schools Sports Partnership, upcoming sports are advertised to the children both on the board and through our social media Facebook page. There is also a section to celebrate pupil achievements of sports they try out of school to promote and encourage others to try a new sport.
Children have a voice and are asked to suggest future clubs they would like to see on offer. They add their ideas to the school notice board. This information is used each term to plan the clubs on offer the following term. Less traditional sports are encouraged to widen the appeal to all our pupils. Children are approached to ask if they would like to join a club, particularly if they are not currently attending any clubs or following any known sports outside of school time.
Girls Football
As a school, a girls football club is offered to the girls in KS2. There is a strong link between Homefield and the East Norfolk Sixth Form College which offers regular opportunities throughout the year to use their 3G pitch and flood-lit facilities. Training is periodically offered at the venue to boost the girls' interest and enthusiasm to participate. The girls are also invited to take part in interschool events at the college during the school day to boost the participation in the after-school clubs.
